The Fascial Manipulation Method is a cycle of articles dedicated to the understanding of themost common dysfunctions we meet during our clinical practice, specifically theirmanifestation and treatment with Fascial Manipulation. FM specialists report clinical cases, accurately describing their symptomatology, the chosen work plan and the resultsobtained, thanks to the treatment. For privacy reasons, the names of the patients have been changed.

Clinician: Riccardo Busin

A 17-year-old patient came to the clinic for abdominal pain. She is a student and has been playing volleyball for 10 years.
She complained of a feeling of “blockage in the stomach” (LU an me 1), which prevented her from eating normally, which had started about 2 years earlier. This digestive difficulty increased in the supine position and with the intake of liquids.

The symptom had not changed even with pharmacological therapy, including some antidepressants. About 1 year before the visit, the patient had presented amenorrhea, for which she had been prescribed the contraceptive pill to regulate her menstrual cycle. Over the next 3 months, the patient showed a weight gain of about 5-6 kg.
From the remote anamnesis, only a fracture in the left CU-CA emerged, at the age of two years, which healed without complications.

HYPOTHESIS:
The hypothesis was of a catenary dysfunction that prevented normal peristalsis, also supported by the negative motor verification.

PALPATORY VERIFICATION:
At the palpatory verification, an attempt was made to evaluate the deep points of LU and PV, but this maneuver was particularly painful, so palpation was directed to the catenaries of the trunk. The most densified plane was the horizontal one. The quadrants of the limbs and trunk were also palpated for the adipose-metabolic system.

TREATMENT:
The following points were treated:
– ER CA LT, ER GE LT, ER TH RT, ER CX RT, IR SC RT, IR TH LT, IR LU LT, AN ME TA 1 BI, RE LA PE 2 BI, RE LA CA 2 BI, RE LA CP 3 BI
– Q RE LA PV BI, Q AN LA CX-GE BI

RESULTS:
Two weeks after fascial manipulation treatment the patient reported a decrease in symptoms of approximately 50%.
